College

So now that ive gone through at least the first day of all of my classes this summer I figured I would take a break and blog about all of my classes.
I'll list all of my classes and something about what they are.

Africana studies
I am learning about the history of African american people, and what kind of changes they have made in America. It sounds like it is going to be a lot of fun, a lot of presentations and the professor said that we may do old african plays and things like that.

Latin American Civilization
In this class I am going to learn about, what else, The history of Latin America, Which includes mexico, and the rest of south america, The carribean islands, and other surrounding areas, and how people in those areas differ from the people in certain other areas of Latin America.

Philosophy
Basically I'm going to learn about how I don't exist. Also my Professor, she likes to use the f-word. Quite a bit. So yeah HUGE change from A.C.A.

Anthropology
Pretty much political, liberal, democratic bullcrap trying to be forced into my head. Very boring class to sit through for an hour and fifteen minutes.

Mathematics
This class is really really easy. Today I learned about the number sets!!! rational irrational real whole integers all that jazz so yeah. Easy A.

Introduction to college
This is pretty much a guaranteed A. Its just giving you tips to survive in college. Pretty boring, but at least I have a computer in front of me in that class. WOO!!! solitaire ftw!!!!

So i just found out that i can access blogger from my phone! so i may just post more often. i dont know. we'll see!

Random poem

This is a poem i was thinking of while walking around on the U.T. campus. Its not really finished yet, but ill add more to it the more i think of it.



He controls me like a marionette

Bringing out my deepest regrets

He holds me back not letting me go

I fear that I lack the power to grow

I can do nothing but follow his will

Powerless against him, like a lion's kill

He tells me to join in the sin of this nation

Unable to resist I give in to temptation

I give in to sin again and again

I fear my controller is about to win

Then I feel something grow deep inside me

The one who controls me knows its alive in me

Hes taken aback but not yet defeated

I stand to my feet though my strength is depleted

The strings start to break as I raise my voice

The name of my Savior I begin to rejoice

My former controller now falls to his knees

Just like he did mine I ignore his pleas

He begs me to stop to let him go free

I simply reply theres no escaping from me

I rejoice louder and lift my voice higher

He screams in pain Ill give you more power

I laugh and say there is nothing greater

I have the power of my Lord and Savior

He bursts into dust he lost this war

But deep down inside I know I'll face more

But as long as I have the strength of my Lord

I will not be defeated, of that be assured

So I tell you who read this do not be afraid

For with the power of the Lord you will not be swayed

I was kinda making it up as i went along so it may not flow very well but what do you expect, its me, im not a poet.

Clint Mansell

I thought i would take a chance to tell you guys about my favorite soundtrack composer ever, his name is clint mansell.
First of to understand my view of music you need to know that i do not just simply listen to music, I feel music. I feel the emotion that was put into the song by the composer, I love music, often i will just sit and listen staring into the sky thinking of something that could go along with the song, or i at least try to. Clint mansells music makes me feel empowered and makes me believe that i can do anything i set my heart, so enjoy the music of Clint Mansell, and i hope you too can share my view on music as you listen.
The first song i have posted before, It is called requiem for a dream, It is extremely powerful and moving and inspiring and so many things that cannot truly describe what this song is.

This song is called Shellshock (another day, another dollar) Every time i hear this song it nearly brings tears to my eyes, This movie, smokin aces, has so much emotion, such a powerful soundtrack that i can't help but be brought to sadness when i hear this soundtrack.

This last song is from the soundtrack to the fountain, I know i have posted, but the first time i heard this song i was thinking that there is no way a song could be this powerful, this moving. But it is. I love this song, I have been trying to think of a story to put with it, but nothing has come as of yet. Please listen to this song and try to think of your own story to put with it.
